Ken
Parsons (Chief Executive) kenneth.parsons@rural-shops-alliance.co.uk For most of his working life Ken has worked in the retail industry in a variety of roles for some major retail organisations, such as Boots the Chemists, Gateway Supermarkets and Somerfield. For the last few years he has specialised in addressing the issues facing rural retailers, operating as a Retail Consultant for such organisations as the Countryside Agency and more recently, the Rural Shops Alliance. As a result of this work, he is well-known to many shopkeepers in the West Midlands and South West regions. In November 2007 he was appointed Chief Executive of the RSA. |

Anne Unwin (Office Administrator) info@rural-shops-alliance.co.uk Anne joined the RSA in 2005 having previously worked in eduction and hospital administration. Anne is based at the RSA’s headquarters in Dorset where she runs the office and is generally the first point of contact |

Trevor
Dixon (Public
Relations Manager)

Trevor has been involved in the food industry for most of his working life and was Managing Director of VG in the late 70’s and early 80’s. In the 90’s he helped establish the ACS (Association of Convenience Stores), of which he was Chief Executive until 2001. Trevor clearly brings a huge amount of experience to the RSA. His main role within the organisation is to work with its sponsors and communicate with the Trade Press. |

Richard Lee ( Counties Co-ordinator) richard.lee@rural-shops-alliance.co.uk Richard has worked for the RSA since 2002, having previously operated his own successful village shop and post office. His primary role within the Rural Shops Alliance is to liase with 'Associate (county) Members' as well as helping to promote the RSA to other organisations and individuals. Richard also a SFEDI accredited Retail Consultant. |

Pirie (Partnership
Co-ordinator) ...........................val.pirie@rural-shops-alliance.co.uk Val is an ex works race and rally driver (Lotus, Ford, Standard Triumph, BMC and Alfa Romeo) and was also manager of the Stirling Moss Automobile Racing Team. She went from motor racing/rallying into PR, journalism and editing, and worked on the Sun and major titles for the Thomson Group. Her extensive experience in PR is now applied on behalf of the RSA in helping to define and manage the relationship with existing and potential partners........ |

Smith (Operations Manager)

Phil enjoyed a long career with Post Office Ltd in its various incarnations, including appointments as Regional General Manager and Head of Rural Policy. Phil’s responsibilities within the RSA include working with our retail services Partners, as well as managing specific projects and lobbying Government on crime reduction measures. |
